Waaree Transpower Secures 1.27 GW IDT Order from Leading Solar EPC Company

Waaree Transpower

Waaree Transpower, a critical player in India’s clean energy infrastructure ecosystem, has secured Inverter Duty Transformer (IDT) orders exceeding ₹100 crore within the first month of its launch.

The total order capacity stands at 1275 MVA, equivalent to 1.27 GW, and has been awarded by a leading solar EPC company for deployment across high-capacity solar power projects nationwide.

This milestone underscores the growing role of Waaree Transpower amid India’s accelerated renewable energy expansion.

The country added over 10+ GW of solar capacity in FY25 alone and is targeting annual renewable additions of 50 GW to achieve its 500 GW non-fossil capacity goal by 2030.

With solar developers scaling projects rapidly, the requirement for efficient, grid-resilient power evacuation infrastructure has intensified.

Waaree Transpower Strengthens Grid Infrastructure with 1.27 GW IDT Order

Waaree Transpower’s Inverter Duty Transformers are engineered to operate reliably in high-frequency switching and harmonic-intensive environments, while managing variable irradiation conditions common to large solar installations.

These capabilities make the IDTs suitable for utility-scale solar projects that demand long-term reliability, grid compliance, and stable power evacuation.

Commenting on the achievement, Ankit Doshi, Director, Waaree Transpower, said that crossing the 1.27 GW mark in transformer orders within a month reflects strong confidence in the company’s engineering capabilities, execution discipline, and customer-focused approach.

He added that Waaree Transpower remains committed to supporting India’s rapidly growing solar ecosystem with reliable and grid-resilient electrical infrastructure.

Nationwide Deployment Supporting Utility-Scale Solar Growth

The ordered transformers will be deployed across multiple states, supporting India’s expanding utility-scale solar project pipeline, which is estimated at over 70 GW under development.

These installations are expected to enhance grid stability, improve power evacuation efficiency, and support higher renewable energy penetration across the country.

High-Performance Inverter Duty Transformers for Next-Generation Solar Projects

Designed to support advanced string and central inverter architectures, Waaree Transpower’s IDTs offer lower energy losses, improved thermal management, enhanced durability in high-temperature operating conditions, and improved system uptime for solar developers.

The technology aligns with the evolving technical requirements of large-scale solar power projects planned over the coming decade.
